Had a salesperson come and give me an estimate on putting in a solar attic fan. Our house is just so darn hot, especially with the late afternoon sun. We get blasted with heat from 1 pm till 6 pm. And with single wall construction, our house just heats right up. It always has, for the past 30 years. But now I'm trying to change that. Let's add that to the list of things to do. Then prioritize and budget what needs to be done first. I'm up to Windows, Lanai, and Solar Attic Fan. Now, where's the money to do all these things?
Chase played in the pool twice this afternoon. After he played in the pool, I dried him. Then, he played in the driveway. After that, he decided to go for the pool again, with clothes, diapers, and shoes on. Oh well. It IS hot outside.
All that water play must have tired him out because for the first time, Chase fell asleep while sitting and eating in his high chair. I was even cooking stir fry on the stove at the time. So, it was loud in the kitchen. Then, Chris goes, "Omigosh, I think he's asleep." I look over, and sure enough, the kid's got his eyes closed, head bopping and all.
It's too bad though, because it was only 6:15 pm. So after a shower and to bed for him. But, this only means he's going to be up all night because he doesn't have a full tummy of dinner. It's only 9 pm, and he's already been up several times to nurse.

Friedman's hardware has solar attic fans for $179 including fan and solar panel. Just cut a hole in roof and mount unit. Big unit and easy to install.
