While all you Seattleites are thinking about the possible prospect of snow (ha ha, just thought I'd rub it in!), today we went to relax at the beach. This morning, P'Pau (our school's financial director and a single woman who loves to drink coffee and shop) picked us up and took us to Cha'am Beach in Petchburi, a three hour drive away. We sat on the beach in chaise lounge chairs, ate a lot of food - fried prawns, fried octopus, fried rice, tom yum soup, etc. It was very much a beach town with lots of guest houses, hotels, and down the way, massages on the beach. It was fun to relax in the sun, watching the banana boats go by (huge blow up boats that look like a banana or a long pencil where 5 or 6 people hang on, and get pulled around at high speeds by a jet ski), people having a blast bouncing around on the waves, vendors selling everything from pinwheels that rattle in the wind when the toothpick hits the soda can top to horseback riding. We stayed there for about 4 hours and then headed home, but stopped at an outlet mall on the way for some window shopping and coffee. Got home at 8 pm, watched one of my DVDs, and then called Christina to see if she had her baby yet. Sure enough, a congratulations is in order for Max Robert Olson born in Anacortes, Washington on December 2nd! It was great to hear that she had a quick delivery and that she and the baby were fine, and I could even hear the little guy in the background as I talked to her on my cell phone.

Chris, Anna Rae, and I went on one of those banana boats in Mazatlan, Mexico and it was a blast! I thought for sure I was going to fall off, not so much because of the bumpy ride (which it was!), but because of laughing so hard.
