Obama!!!

Such an exciting time, and history-making for sure, as I watch Obama's moving victory speech and hear fireworks in the neighborhood....Obama has just been declared the President elect, proving that it is possible. America has its first African American president. Though our votes cancelled each other out in our household, I have always been an Obama supporter. Too bad they didn't have the right size t-shirt for Chase that said "Obama 'Ohana" (Obama Family)...It's a bittersweet victory for Obama tonight since his beloved "toot" ("tutu", or grandmother, in Hawaiian) passed away yesterday (and they said they WILL count her vote even though she passed away). Who would've predicted that an African American man raised in Hawai'i (and who graduated from the same high school as my brother and husband) would become our next president?

As Barack Obama said in his speech,

"America can change. Our union can be perfected....

...Yes, we can."

Well, it's about time change has come to America.
