There has been a lot of publicity lately in local news on ALS, or Lou Gherig's Disease. From Peggy Chun's art classes in her home to the Bangkok International Hospital's seminar on stem cell treatment, the public is becoming more aware of the debilitating disease. In today's Honolulu Star Bulletin, there is an article on Patrick Valenti, a 50 year old local man who uses a computerized speech machine to talk for him.
