Today, Dan helped me set up my classroom, and then we went to my dad's where Uncle Jimmy was keeping my dad company. We decided to go drive around the island (well, part of the island). We visited the usual tourist sites, including Sandy Beach, Blowhole, and Makapu'u. A bunch of photos later, we stopped at Waiola's for some shaved ice. After having a plate lunch and slush float yesterday from Rainbow Drive Inn, Dan had to have the true local experience of a fine shaved ice with ice cream on the bottom. It was scrumptious and hit the spot on this hot day!
